During 2001 I decided to develop a body of work that explored the connection between Biblical stories & contemporary events. I was interested in the degree to which religious belief has inspired, and continues to inspire extreme behaviour, especially behaviour that outside its religious context would appear unacceptable or incomprehensible from a secular point of view. For someone who has a strong fundamental religious belief secular society can be perceived as immoral, malignant & satanic. This work was an attempt on my part to learn & contribute to my own understanding.

The research for this series was vast, including several religious texts, medieval manuscripts, many contemporary texts of various kinds, the electronic media, & many world events that occurred during the production of this work. The series contains over seventy works and was completed in 2004.
